On Saturday, February 19th at 2 p.m., you can experience the tastes and sounds of the Civil War at the Rum River Library in Anoka. “Tastes & Sounds of the Civil War” is a hands-on approach to discussing the Civil War. Artifacts, pictures, music, and a special taste of a soldier’s typical fare, will be shared with guests by an authentically costumed presenter. Stories of Minnesota troops and their misconceptions, adventures, and disappointments during the turbulent years of war, help people of all ages gain a basic understanding of the Civil War from a Minnesota point of view. For more information about this and other library programs, call 763-576-4695 or visit your local Anoka County Library.
