I’ve been offering ways to keep your kids prepared for school during the summer this week. Obviously, they can’t be prepared to learn if they are not fed properly. If feeding your kids during the break is a burden, Minneapolis Parks offers the Summer Meals Program.
Recreation centers throughout the park system will offer free meals June 11–Aug. 17 to youth ages 18 and younger during the Summer Meals Program.
Times and types of meals served (breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner) vary by site and are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. New in 2012, select sites will serve reduced-waste meals, which focus on reducing both food and packaging waste.
