Como Park Zoo and Conservatory invites you to join the Rainforest Revel Weekend to learn about the beauty and biodiversity of the earth’s rainforests.  Como’s Tropical Encounters exhibit will serve as the starting point for this special conservation weekend that will explore the fascinating flora and fauna of the rainforest with themed crafts, family-friendly games, and free talks from Como’s keepers and gardeners.

Schedule:

• 10:30am –Tropical Fruit Enrichment for the Bears at Polar Bear Odyssey
• 11:00am – Zoo Keeper Talk & Amazon Fish Feeding in Tropical Encounters
• 11:30-12:00 – Get up & close to Stephano The Sloth in the Visitor Center
• 12:30 – Story time! Join some animal visitors in the Visitor Center for an interactive reading of “Here is the Tropical Rainforest”
• 1:00 – Gardener Talk about Coffee
• 1:30 – Education Talk about Chocolate (TE farm table)
• 2:00 – Tropical Fruit Enrichment for the Bears at Polar Bear Odyssey
• 2:30-3:30 (Sunday Only) – St. Joe’s School of Music

When you get home, make a Rainforest-Themed dinner.  First Class Kids has several recipes to choose from.  Another fun way to bring this home to family time would be to make a Rainforst Terrarium together.
