May Day is approaching. Get ready for the In The Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre May Day Parade by participating in the Minneapolis Institute of Arts‘ Art in the Park Family Studio: Seven-Generation Dragon Puppets. This is Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the MIA studios
Make a dragon with May Day Parade artists. Learn how artists use history to inform their work. Think back and dream ahead to tell your own dragon-puppet story. Find out how to get involved in this year’s parade while designing a small puppet to take home.
If you want to make more puppets at home together, we have a sock puppet kit in our Free Family Fun store — or just make your own sock puppets.
Because you are out on a school night, any dinner-time fun would be best made with a crock pot. Here is a Dragon’s Breath Chili recipe, but I would probably just make my own mild version of chili and tell my kids its Dragon’s Breath Chili.
