Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. is Free Family Fun Day at Carl Kroenig Interpretive Center. This week’s theme is River Insects Tell a Story. Examine live river insects to see what they reveal about water quality in the Mississippi River! If you and your family want to learn more about river insects all over the world, National Geographic has a nice photo page. To bring it into dinner time, Kids Cooking Activities offers a Bug-Theme Dinner Menu. No river bugs, but a really cute lady but made from a tomato and cocoons made from hotdogs and biscuits.
