On Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Carl Kroening Interpretive Center will host its weekly Free Family Funday. This week is about Things with Wings. How many wings does a beetle have? Can birds fly backwards? What do bats eat? How fast can a dragonfly fly? Learn about all sorts of animals that use the power of flight to live their lives.
If you want more winged family time, check out the Minnesota DNR Bats page. This Old House offers a step by step bat box. You could attract bats and reduce Minnesota’s least favorite things with wings. Mosquito season will be here soon.
While building the bat box, you could fire up the grill for a family cookout with 3-Ingredient Grilled Spiced Chicken Wings from Real Simple.
